Lanvin Resort 2011 Shoes

Style.com posted images of Lanvin's Resort Collection and now I want these wedges soooooo badly, why oh why are these the only images I can find? I need to see them close-up in all their glory! And what do we think about a different color shoe on each foot? Visually interesting for sure but I don't think I'll be in a hurry to go down that road just yet.

Proenza Schouler Pre-Fall 2010 Shoes

Proenza Schouler posted their Pre-Fall 2010 collection on their website this week. This black wedge bootie is my favorite of the seven shoes available to view. I'm kind of glad to see that the wedge isn't going away just yet. To check out the rest of the collection click here. I like what they have to offer, I just don't love, love, love it. Prices are not available as yet.

Hi & Dip-Dye

I'm back! So sorry about the absence, too much work, life and more work in the way. I promise to get back to posting regularly. In the meantime I wanted to share these gorgeous dip-dye heels from Kurt Geiger that I spotted in Elle UK's Summer Accessories Report. However, a little birdie told me that these aren't going into production, I really hope that's not true. They cost £260.

Grumpsville

* grumpsville looks a lot like the above image of my very unamused cat after she jumped into a box with high sides and forgot to plan an escape route

This morning I shared an elevator at work with a girl who was wearing Alexander Wang Freja Booties with neon hot pink polish. She looked awesome, had it not been so early in the day I would have told her so, but I'm well aware that my social skills rarely kick in before 11am and I'm pretty much living in grumpsville* until then.  Anyway, two cups of coffee later and my daily hunt for shoes well underway I stumbled across these Dolce Vita wedges named Pela. The color immediately took me back to my morning rendezvous and I knew I had to share. If I owned these shoes I'm pretty sure they would bring me joy, even at 8.30am. I mean that color, how could then not? Oh and they are a very reasonable $165 too, see I'm smiling already!

A Tribute Too Much?

Oh dear.  Jeffrey Campbell has created a shoe aptly named Tribute in honor of McQueen and his Armadillo shoe. I really would like to say something positive but I just don't know what.  I think this was a mistake purely because it just isn't possible to improve on perfection.  In fairness to LF a portion of the sales will go to a charity in honor of the late designer but still I'm not sold and I'm sad about that as I really do like JC.

I don't know why but the clunkiness makes me automatically think of an orthopedic shoe? Does anybody want these? If you do they will be available at Jeffrey Campbell's sister brand LF in July.

OMG, for any of you British folk that ever watched the TV show 'Alan Partridge' writing this post just reminded me of the quote, "'I stand corrected', said the man in the orthopedic shoes".  Hahahahaha, just me? OK fine, you have to watch it to understand why it's funny.

A Shoes Many Uses

OK for most of us shoes are firstly a practical/functional/I need to be able to walk type thing. Admittedly, if you are anything like me they are probably more of a fashion thing but Lilo, of course, has taken it one step further and added SCRAM concealer to the list. Oh la lohan, you never cease to entertain, even on the beach this girl is working it. Speaking of entertainment, check this out! Hehe, too funny.

Shame

Now I really like Sophia Bush, I do. But in terms of style she's never really been on my radar so it comes as somewhat of a surprise to see images of her trotting around West Hollywood wearing these nude sandals. I'm torn on a verdict because I think on the right person the sandals could have great potential but they just don't look right on her. Maybe it's a tan thing? Perhaps it's a height thing? I can't be sure. It's a shame but points for trying something new.

Plastic

Melissa Mermaid Shoes - $99

Some days just really kick your ass, don't they? Today I learned that it is completely impossible to keep everyone happy. Impossible. So now it's time to switch the focus back to myself and a select few loved ones. You know what would make me happy right now? These Melissa Mermaid shoes, that's what! I've never owned a plastic shoe in my life, not even as a child so I'm quite surprised by my choice but I really like the simplicity of this shoe plus this particular design seems as though it would allow the foot to breathe which I'm guessing is an essential quality to look for in a shoe made of plastic!

Happy Days

Today is a good day, not only is it TGIF tomorrow BUT one of my favorite retailers, Barneys NY announced a 40% off sale this morning! There are so many great shoes to chose from including Christian Louboutin, Fendi, Givenchy, Miu Miu & Stella McCartney to name just a few. But don't take my word for it, hot foot it down to your nearest location or click here and check it out for yourselves!

My pick of the bunch would be these Lanvin Plexi Sandals in Black originally $1,295 down to $779.

Happy days.

Go Loca!

The Original: Brian Atwood Loca Studded Pump $800

Imitation, the sincerest form of flattery?
Even though I understand and empathise with both sides of the luxe v less argument, such a blatant copy doesn't sit quite right with me. But if you're dying to get these babies on your feet, for just $29.95 you can purchase GoJane.com's version of Brian Atwood's Loca Studded Pumps as seen on Carrie in Sex & The City 2, which retail for $800 on Net-a-Porter (however, these seem to be sold out for now).
